Kincardine Councillor Marsha Leggett has apologized for remarks she made at last week’s council meeting .
Leggett said she and several other councillors received telephone calls from someone saying the town’s doctors and medical clinic staff were upset with the layout plans for an expansion at the Kincardine Community Medical Centre.
Leggett says she found out the day after the council meeting that what she was told were allegations and supposedly not true.
She says Mayor Larry Kraemer, Deputy Mayor Laura Haight, and CAO John de Rosenroll have since met with the doctors and found out they are still very supportive of the plans.
Leggett has sent a copy of her apology letter to both Kincardine newspapers and to de Rosenroll.
Kraemer was not present for the council meeting where the remarks were made.
Mayor Kraemer told council at Monday night’s budget meeting that the doctors are indeed fully supportive of the medical centre expansion plans.
