Thousands of daffodils are brightening up homes and businesses across the region on this grey and snowy April day.
The annual Daffodil Campaign for the Bluewater Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society wrapped up on Sunday.
Saugeen Shores spokesperson Penny Bonin says one hundred thousand blooms were brought in from British Columbia to kick off Daffodil Month.
The annual sales campaign raises money for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Bonin says sales were down in Saugeen Shores by a couple hundred dollars – and they had blooms leftover in both Saugeen Shores and Owen Sound.
The numbers were better in Kincardine where officials sold out of daffodils and raised about 65 hundred dollars.
Last year in Bruce and Grey Counties — about 50 thousand dollars was raised, that number will be somewhat lower this year.
Extra bunches were delivered to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton and to the Southampton Care Centre.
The remaining blooms in Owen Sound are being distributed.
The totals for across the whole of Bruce and Grey Counties won’t be known until the end of the week.
