The recession doesn’t seem to be stopping people in Collingwood from building or renovating.
More building permits were issued in March of this year compared to the same month last year.
64 permits were handed out compared to 25 in March of 2008.
The construction value this past March was just over 8.6 million dollars compared to almost 5.1 million for the same month in 2008.
But if you compare March 2009 to February ’09, there is a drop in permits issued.
In February, 84 permits were granted compared to the 64 in March.
But only 20 permits were issued in January.
