A local band is up for 2 Juno Awards today.
Two of the members of The Midway State are from our area.
Singer Nathan Ferraro is from Collingwood, and drummer Daenen Bramberger is from Wasaga Beach.
They are up for Pop Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
Before the ceremonies today, Midway State kicked off their Juno apperance by hitting the stage to peform at the Junofest concert yesterday.
Ferraro says he was writing a song every day by the time he was 15 years old, and he admited to himself that the only option for him in life was music.
He and Daenen ended up in Toronto after high school, and they were living with old band mates for 75 dollars a month.
Then award winning producer Gavin Brown heard their demo, and things clicked, says Ferraro.
Their newest album is called Holes.
