Hundreds of high school students in Grey Bruce are showing off their skills today.
The 6th annual Secondary Regional Technological Skills Challenge is being held at four different locations.
The students are competing at the Bruce Skills Training Centre in Tiverton as well as Georgian College, the Armoury and Salon Sisu, all in Owen Sound.
The skills include culinary arts, carpentry, automotive services, electrical wiring, and hairstyling.
The event also involves 30 judges, 45 teachers and dozens of volunteers.
Co-ordinator Eileen Comars says each Catholic and Public high school in Bruce Grey is represented.
Comars says the students work hard to prepare for the day and they show a lot of pride in their projects.
She notes most of the students started their projects back in November.
The winner moves onto Skills Ontario — a provincial competition with over 15 hundred students and 60 skills trade contests.
The winner of the Provincial Competition advances to the Nationals.
