Shoppers Drug Mart has come to Hanover.
After months of construction — the new store opened its doors to the public yesterday.
The official grand opening won’t take place until Saturday.
Manager Jane Schnittker couldn’t be happier with the public response.
She says there has been a steady flow of traffic through the store since it opened its doors yesterday morning.
She says Hanover is a great fit for Shoppers Drug Mart, noting that the town has a strong regional draw.
Schnittker adds the store has created 31 new jobs for the local economy, and if all goes as planned — more jobs may be added in the future.
She adds Shoppers Drug Mart is more than just pharmaceuticals.
The store features an extensive line of cosmetics, giftware as well as fresh and frozen foods.
It took about 4 months to construct the 14 thousand 200 square foot building which is located on the east end of Hanover, across from Canadian Tire.
Schnittker is confident that despite the doom and gloom over the economy, Shoppers Drug Mart is going to do very well in Hanover.
