Two area MPP’s are calling on Ontario’s Education Minister to look into recent concerns raised about the Bluewater District School Board.
MP Larry Miller raised concerns in a letter to a local newspaper recently and initially the Chair of the board Rick Galbraith, staunchly defended the board.
Then, Galbraith resigned and Jennifer Yensen took over as chair of the Bluewater board.
A number of parents have complained that board staff are not listening to their concerns about their kids.
Board officials have responded saying the issues have been dealt with.
Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP Bill Murdoch wants education Minister Kathleen Wynne to see if there is anything that needs to be addressed.
He says someone from the Ministry would come up and review the complaints, possibly setting up a public meeting at the same time.
Murdoch is upset that Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Larry Miller wrote a letter to the paper, saying it’s a provincial issue and his move caught the two MPP’s completely off guard.
Huron Bruce MPP Carol Mitchell says despite their differences, she and Murdoch will work together on this issue.
