It’s a chance to recognize and acknowledge that extra effort by individuals and businesses.
The annual Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce Community Achievement Awards unfolds tonight at the Governor’s Inn in Kincardine.
Chamber spokesperson Jackie Pawlikowski says the winners have already been announced but will be more formerly recognized at Saturday’s gala.
Pawlikowski says the whole idea of the event is to say thanks to those who have gone the extra mile in their lives or businesses.
She says she’d like to thank those who took the time this year to bring forth nominations.
Pawlikowski says some nominations did come in late unfortunately and would like to remind people that a call for nominations goes out long before the event.
She hopes everyone will try again next year.
This year’s winners include: Steelback Brewery as Business of the Year; Chris Showalter of Tramonto Pasta Tapas Vino as Entrepreneur of the Year; Mel McGuigan for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
In all 11 awards will be presented.
