Spring is on the way and it’s time to renew friendships and nuture new ones.
That is the essence of the 10th annual Youth Pow Wow at Saugeen First Nation, which is being held tomorrow.
Spokesperson Darcy Kewageshig appeared on Soundingboard on 98 the Beach and said the pow wow allows the First Nation to introduce dance and customs and community pride to neighbouring communities.
The event begins at the James Mason Memorial Centre at 11:30 AM with the grand entry parade.
Festivities continue until 5 PM with drumming, dancing, native crafts, contests, good food and lots of fun.
The event is organized and hosted by the youth of Saugeen First Nation and admission is free.
However donations of non-perishable food items and spare change are being accepted.
Kewageshig says other than that “bring your friendships and let’s be friends.”
The event goes rain or shine since most of it is held inside.
