According to an analysis by the Canadian Press, people living in Simcoe County generate less waste than the provincial average.
Simcoe County Residents also divert more trash from going to landfill sites too.
Data from Waste Diversion Ontario shows that the average person in Ontario generates more than a kilogram of waste every day, or 385 kilograms a year.
But someone living in Simcoe only was responsible for about 377 kilograms of waste in 2007.
People in Simcoe County also diverted just over 40 percent of their trash from going to landfill, which is above the 39.2 percent average.
Simcoe ranked 42nd in Ontario for recycling, and was 111th out of 206 municipalities in waste generation.
