The committee making recommendations to the Simcoe County public school board about schools for high school students may not be able to come up with a unanimous decision.
Collingwood Mayor Chris Carrier is a member of the Accommodation Review Committee.
He says the group of more than 40 people will likely make more than one suggestion to the school board, with majority and minority support for each.
Carrier says he expects part of the committee will suggest Wasaga Beach get its own high school, and a smaller group will say there should be no change in the number of schools in this area.
Carrier says he wishes there could be discussions about partnerships in the community, suggesting the CCI building or the SCI building might make a good home for Georgian College eventually.
The committee will deliver its report to the school board in April.
The Board will review the report and make its own recommendation to the provincial Ministry of Education, which has the final say on when and whether new schools are built.
