Sixteen teams took to the ice for the 9th Annual Charity Curling Classic bonspiel in Owen Sound.
The event at the Grey Granite club last weekend raised almost 15 thousand dollars to support the purchase of nuclear medicine equipment at the Owen Sound hospital.
The bonspiel was won by the Sauble Sweeps, skipped by Randy Rogers.
The Fearsome Foursome Team skipped by Carole Frook took home the prize for top pledging team, raising 777 dollars.
Over the last nine years, the Curling Classic has raised about 125 thousand dollars for new equipment at the hospital — from ultrasound machines to surgical instruments.
