Help has arrived at elementary school libraries across Grey and Bruce counties.
Queens Park recently announced 118 thousand dollars in funding for the Bluewater district school board to boost library staffing.
Superintendant of Elementary education Marnie Coke says it allows the board to hire library clerks for all 42 elementary schools in the system.
They are part time positions with most only working a half day a week.
Coke says their main function is to organize the school libraries, collecting books as they are returned and re-stocking shelves.
All the new hires are on the job now and have undergone some training from the Board.
At the same time, Coke says the province is providing 144 thousand dollars to enhance library collections.
Bluewater will use the money to buy more books, which should arrive in the schools by the end of March.
