We’ll find out in a few weeks whether Wasaga Beach could be in line for its own high school.
The Accommodation Review Committee is getting close to finishing its work.
The Committee, made up of local parents, politicians and businesspeople, is looking at whether the needs of public high school students in Wasaga Beach, Elmvale, Stayner Collingwood and Penetanguishene are being met.
It will submit its report to the school board April 14th.
The Board will make a decision on whether to build, close or renovate schools on June 14th.
The board isn’t required to agree with the findings of the committee.
For nearly a year, the 50-member committee has been holding hearings about the needs of public high school students.
It could recommend building a high school in Wasaga, or not, closing the schools in Elmvale and Stayner or not, or any combination of those.
