The Blue Mountains won’t be hosting part of the 2015 Pan Am Games.
The town had put in a bid to host the equestrian events at the Thornbury Horse Park.
But the Pan American/Para Pan Games Bid Corporation has instead added Caledon’s bid to the list of potential hosts.
The events would be held at the Caledon Equestrian Park.
The Park has hosted a number of prestigious equestrian events including Olympic Trials, World Equestrian Games Trials, Pan Am Games Trials, FEI World Cup events and hundreds of National Tournaments.
Officials from the Caledon area believe hosting part of the Pan Am Games in 2015 would boost the local economy.
It’s estimated that the games will create 15 thosand jobs across the province and bring more than 10 thousand athletes and officials.
