Budget deliberations for The Town of South Bruce Peninsula are complete.
Council members finished budget talks yesterday and have settled on a two percent tax increase.
Now residents will get a chance to comment on the proposed budget and tax hike.
No date for the public meeting has been set.
Mayor Gwen Gilbert says she is excited the budget includes a number of initiatives and they were still able to keep the tax increase to two percent.
The budget includes a water front study for the Wiarton harbour and a revitalization project for the downtown areas.
Gilbert notes one of the biggest projects will be the installation of Sauble Beach sewers, which is expected to begin in September.
The project will cost the town about 3.5 million dollars because they have received seven million dollars in infrastructure funding from the Provincial and Federal Governments.
Gilbert says council has been listening to resident concerns regarding the current economic situation.
She says they feel two percent is being very fiscally responsible.
