You may notice a foul smell in downtown Collingwood.
This time it’s not Collingwood Ethanol, it’s coming from the wastewater treatment plant.
Mayor Chris Carrier says the piece of equipment that moves sludge at the bottom of the clarifier broke down on Monday.
He says you can imagine what would be at the bottom of that big bin that’s causing the smell.
Carrier says he’s been told the sludge has to be sucked out, the part repaired and then the sludge put back in.
He says the problem is expected to be fixed in the next couple of days.
