The annual ” Bowl for Big Brothers ” at Westside Bowl in Owen Sound is being hailed a success.
The bowlers who participated on Saturday generated more than 12 thousand dollars in donations and pledges.
That total will be boosted by a variety of other activities pertaining to the event, including donations, sponsorships and the Bill Murdoch Challenge
Owen Sound Big Brothers president Andy McKee believes the final tally will be in the neighbourhood of 18 thousand dollars.
McKee states he and the Big brothers of Owen Sound are truly grateful to those who participated and supported the annual bowling event.
He notes Owen Sound was filled with charity activities on Saturday and he notes the ongoing support for Big Brothers illustrates what a caring community Owen Sound is.
The Bowl for Big Brothers is the major fundraiser for the Owen Sound Big Brothers and assist their operation in a variety of ways.
Although small in numbers, McKee is proud of the volunteers, and especially proud of those who have made a committment to connect with a Little Brother in the community.
