The question of a new Tourist Information Centre for the municipality was raised at a recent budget meeting.
Councillor Kenneth Craig asked if a business plan will be coming forward for the new facility sometime this year.
Councillor Randy Roppel says it will as soon as permission is received to create a new entrance at the east side of the Russell Street intersection with Highway 21.
He says that could happen this fall.
Roppel says the outcome depends on discussions with the developer of the surrounding land regarding which party will pay for various services to be installed.
This year’s municipal budget proposes drawing over 700 thousand dollars from reserves for the project.
Kincardine’s Tourist Information Centre is currently located in a small shopping plaza on Highway 21 north of town.
