An inmate at the Penentanguishene Mental Health Centre wants the provincial government to pay for a sex change operation.
The Toronto Star reports 52 year old Shauna Taylor, formerly Vance Egglestone, is begging for a 15 thousand dollar assessment that would qualify her for government funding.
Taylor, who has been living as a woman since 2000, is a patient at the facility for the criminally insane.
Before transitioning to a woman and living as Vance, he was found not criminally responsible by reason of insanity of the brutal rape of a woman.
He was reelased in 1985 and again charged with aggravated sexual assault and forcible confinement.
