After a one year absence, the Owen Sound Attack are returning to the Ontario Hockey League playoffs.
With 64 points, the Attack cannot be passed for a playoff position.
Owen Sound has 5 games to play; 2 this weekend and three next week.
Currently, the Attack are 8th in the Western Conference.
If they remain 8th, they will face the highly ranked Windsor Spitfires in the first round of the playoffs.
However, if the Attack finish with a flurry, they could finish 7th and face the London Knights.
Mathematically, Owen Sound could catch any of 5 teams in front of them, but that proposition is a long shot.
Attack coach Mark Reeds is happy his club has qualified for the post season.
However, Reeds wished his club had beaten Erie on Wednesday night to claim the playoff berth on a winning note.
Reeds does concede the Attack have played well winning 9 of their last 15 and 4 of their last 5 to pull away from Kitchener.
With 5 games remaining in the season, Reeds relates the Attack will concentrate on the things they do well and work hard on both their power play & their penalty kill unit.
Saturday, the Attack host Saginaw at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Center.
Game time Saturday is 7:30 PM.
