A Port Elgin woman who celebrated her 23rd birthday just about a week ago apparently has received a late birthday present from Tim Horton’s.
It has to be officially confirmed by Horton’s Head Office in Toronto, but it appears Tara Lee has won a Toyota Venza in the current Horton’s “Roll Up The Rim To Win” contest.
Lee, who works in Owen Sound, says she won the car with a coffee she picked up on Monday morning at the Horton’s location in Port Elgin.
Port Elgin Horton’s co-owner Louise Harshman confirmed the winning cup rim has been seen and is legitimate but it will take six to eight weeks to get official confirmation and make the car presentation.
Winner Lee says, at first, she didn’t realize what she had won. The cup rim said “Win Toyota Venza” but, in her excitement, it took a few minutes before she realized it was actually a car.
She says she did not check the cup in the morning but only took a look at the winning rim when she was cleaning our her car after returning from work in the afternoon.
Lee was told the value of the prize vehicle is somewhere in the 30-thousand dollar range.
She says, while she’s not a diehard coffee drinker she usually picks up one – a medium double-double – three or four times a week for the drive to work.
