The Southwest LHIN board of directors has approved nearly 2.6 million dollars in one-time funding for community sector health service providers.
The investment covers minor capital works projects, equipment, and staff training.
The Local health Integration Network (LHIN) put out a call for requests in support of minor infrastructure investments and based it’s decisions on a set of criteria that was given to the health care providers in advance.
Southwest LHIN CEO Michael Barrett was pleased with the scope of the response to their call, and feels the money will make immediate and important improvements to the services provided.
In Grey-Bruce — the biggest winner is Home and Community Support Services, which receives 205 thousand dollars for kitchen and office equipment.
There is also 64 thousand dollars for Participation Lodge Grey Bruce for equipment.
One of the other big winners for funding is the Alexandra Marine and General hospital in Goderich — which receives over 80 thousand dollars for Renovations and equipment.
The Salvation Army centre of Hope Psychiatric services at the Goderich hospital receives another 45 thousand dollars.
