Ten years ago, Dan Snyder was the captain of the Owen Sound Platers, the unquestioned leader of the local Ontario Hockey League team which advanced to the Final 4 for the first time ever.
Dan was a very good player who played with a ferocity that almost belied his look and his temperment when a puck wasn’t involved.
There are many great memories of the late Dan Snyder and they were revisited recently when his father Graham stopped in to say ” hello ” recently when the Attack were at Guelph.
These days, Graham Snyder, and the entire community of Elmira are heavily involved in the ” Kraft Hockeyville ” promotion and will carry the flag for Ontario in this year’s competition.
Graham, in his soft spoken way, wondered if Owen Sound could do Woolwich a favor and lend their community our votes in the contest.
It’s really simple to assist Woolwich.
You can phone 1-866-533-8066
You can text ” Vote Woolwich ” to 222111
Or you can vote online at www.WoolwichHockeyville.ca
I asked Graham Snyder if Elmira & Woolwich wasn’t already ” Hockeyville “, contest or not.
He simply said, ” hockey is a very important activity in Elmira………..and it certainly helped us when we lost Dan. ”
