Grey Bruce is being featured on TVO.
TVOKids has launched a news series of three and a half minute shorts called ‘Greenbelt Adventures’ to focus on healthy and active living.
Director Bonnie Kirkland Landry lives in Owen Sound and says this was a great opportunity to promote the area.
A TVO crew has spent time recently in Grey Bruce to film two episodes of the series.
Kirkland Landry says they were in Tobermory and Collingwood in the fall, around Owen Sound and Wiarton this winter, and will do a final shoot this April.
Local kids are featured in the shorts doing things like kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, snowshoeing, skating, tobogganing, and dog sledding.
Kirkland Landry says Grey Bruce is a perfect fit for the TVO series.
She says the goal of ‘Greenbelt Adventures’ is to show kids what they can do in their own backyards – and there’s no shortage of outdoor activities in Grey Bruce.
Kirkland Landry says the series not only shows kids how to be active, but also promotes healthy eating.
The videos can be seen online at www.tvokids.com/greenbelt, where there is also a contest being run with a grand prize of a weekend for four at Blue Mountain Resort.
The shorts will also air on television in the next few months.
