There will be fewer slips for transient boaters at the Kincardine Marina starting in the 2009 boating season.
The number is being reduced from 20 to 14 to make extra space for seasonal dockage.
The north wall of the harbour will continue to be reserved for commercial fishing boats only.
The Kincardine Yacht Club believes the reduction in the number of transient slips will not reduce the amount of space available for boaters who make the town a port of call.
Currently, seasonal slips are rented out to transient boaters who arrive when the regular occupants are away.
Councillor Marsha Leggett doesn’t agree with that arrangement and compares it to renting out a house while the people who live in it are on holidays.
