South Bruce OPP are warning the public about a mail fraud scheme that has surfaced in the region.
Packages have been showing up in people’s mail containing a letter, written on Canada Post letterhead outlining a survey involving Money Gram International.
A cheque from a CIBC account in the name of Liebherr Canada is also included.
The letter tells the receiver to fill out the survey, cash the cheque, and keep 200 dollars for their efforts.
OPP warn that even though the letter and cheque look real, they aren’t.
Anyone who receives one of these packages in the mail should contact police.
