An investigation by the Ministry of Natural Resources resulted in fines for three deer hunters.
Conservation officers told a judge in a Walkerton Court on February 3rd that they saw three men with five untagged deer during the November 2008 deer hunting season.
25 year-old Darcy Scott of Hanover was fined 35 hundred dollars for shooting and failing to tag two deer and making a false statement to a conservation officer.
50 year-old Donald Scott also of Hanover was fined 2 thousand dollars for failing to tag a buck deer and making a false statement to a conservation officer.
21 year-old Kyle Bennewies of Mitchell was fined one thousand dollars for shooting and failing to tag an antlerless deer.
All three men were also prohibited from hunting for one year.
A cooler and four deer were confiscated and the deer will be donated to needy families.
Two other men involved in the case will appear in court at a later date.
