A brand new Owen Sound business is celebrating its first month in operation.
With plenty of businesses struggling these days — it’s nice to hear about one that’s thriving.
The Around the Sound local food market will celebrate its 28th day providing local residents with food their neighbours grow, raise, catch and bake.
This Saturday — the market will celebrate with more than 50 local suppliers on hand and plenty of free samples.
Operator Anne Finlay Stewart says the support for the store has been overwhelming.
She says Owen Sound area residents appear to want to buy products being raised and grown by their neighbours.
The market has everything from eggs, bread and jams to wild boar sausages and cheese from North America’s first dairy sheep producer in Markdale.
She says customers like to ask alot of questions about where the products come from and the producers have been overwhelmed with the success and support.
Around the Sound Local Food Market is located on First Avenue West — one block north of the library and is open Thursday through Saturday.
