The Sudbury police force is getting a new chief.
Frank Elsner will become the Chief of the Greater Sudbury Police Service in May.
The 46 year old Elsner is the former Deputy Chief in Owen Sound — and he spent six years in the Scenic City.
But he left about two years ago to become the Deputy Chief in Sudbury.
Elsner replaces Ian Davidson as Chief, who is leaving to become Ontario’s commissioner of community safety.
Elsner — who has 27 years experience as a police officer — says he is committed to leading an open and accountable force.
When he takes over as chief, Elsner says he’ll go into the community to hear the public’s concerns first hand.
