If you’d like to quit smoking and have the chance to win a car at the same time, then applications close soon for the 2009 Driven To Quit Challenge.
Grey Bruce Health Unit Tobacco Program Manager Linda Davies says the deadline for entering is this Saturday.
Davies says the Challenge is a great motivator for people who have been thinking about quitting.
She also says it’s been proven successful – 437 people from Grey Bruce were among the almost 27-thousand Ontarians who registered last year.
She says many of those people, including all 8 prize winners, are still smoke free.
Davies says even if people relapse, the Challenge is great practice for future quit attempts and gives people the confidence that they’ve done it before.
She also says the Challenge sets people up for success, with strong support resources and tips available.
Signing up for the Driven To Quit Challenge means you pledge to quit smoking for the entire month of March.
Davies says winners will be chosen by lottery and people whose names are drawn must pass a urine test to prove they’ve been smoke free.
The grand prize is a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu hybrid car.
Also up for grabs are two 5-thousand dollar gift cards from Carlson Wagonlit Travel and seven 2-thousand dollar Canadian Tire Gift Cards.
You can enter the Challenge online at www.driventoquit.ca or by calling the Canadian Cancer Society Smoker’s Helpline at 1-877-513-5333.
