A warning from Huron OPP, driving the speed limit in these conditions is likely too fast!
In the last 24 hours, police have investigated 23 motor vehicle incidents.
Included in those are 3 serious injury collisions and another 2 that could have been catastrophic but luckily the occupants escaped serious injury.
One of the serious injury collisions occurred on Zurich-Hensall Road in Bluewater just east of Airport Line around 3:30 yesterday afternoon.
The head on collision between two passenger vans has left one 34 year old Clinton man fighting for his life.
The roadway was closed for most of the evening as OPP Technical Collision Investigators pieced together the evidence.
Police say, despite Road Closure signs, several motorists decided to drive around the barricades and into the scene.
One individual stated that he just assumed the road was closed for the weather.
Huron OPP stress that, “a closed road is a closed road regardless of the reason, motorists are NOT to drive around barricades.”
