A pair of young would-be thieves will have a court date today in Barrie after a snowplow operator saw them trying to break into cars.
Police were called to a street in the south end of the city last night, but the two young men ran away when they saw cruisers arrive.
Both suspects were apprehended after a short foot chase.
Police say the 16 and 17 year old boys were trying to break into vehicles, and their footprints in the snow suggest they had tried the doors on at least 45 cars.
The two are facing 45 charges each of prowl by night as well as charges of theft and possession of stolen property.
