Georgian Bluffs residents will have a chance to get rid of their unwanted waste.
The Township of Georgian Bluffs will participate in the 2009 Household Hazardous Waste Program with the City of Owen Sound.
The motion was passed at last night’s council meeting.
Mayor Alan Barfoot says this will be their 5th year participating in the successful program.
Barfoot says the first date for hazardous waste drop-off is Saturday, April 18th at the Owen Sound Public Works Facility.
He says it runs one day per month until Saturday, October 13th.
You are able to drop off materials such as pesticides, fertilizers, bleach, paint, batteries and fluorescent tubes.
For a full list of acceptable items you can visit the City of Owen Sound website at www.owensound.ca.
Barfoot says he is very pleased to continue the agreement with Owen Sound because it is a good project for the area.
