Springwater Township is ready to build broadband infrastructure.
The project is slated to start in April of this year, and the Township will be working with the Rural Connections Broadband Program.
It provided funding to help rural municipalities build high-speed internet projects, and is through the Government of Ontario.
Simcoe County has been approved for one million dollars, which is about one-third of the approved eligible costs of the project.
Staff in Springwater are submitting Requests for Proposals to Internet Service Providers by the end of February.
