Police have released the name of the man killed trying to save his dog in the Blue Mountains.
26 year old Alan MacDougall of Collingwood died on Saturday night when he was hit by a car on the 10th Line near Metcalfe Rock.
Police say MacDougall was conducting a tour for a local tour group when his dog ran out into the road.
When MacDougall went after the dog, he was hit and killed by a passing car.
The 10th Line between the 6th and 9th Side Roads was shut down for about 5 hours Saturday night.
Police say their investigation continues.
