If you are one of the lucky Ontarians who has today off because of Family Day, there is lots going on to keep you busy as a family.
Grey Roots outside of Owen Sound is offering free admission today.
There is also free public skating at 1 PM today at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound.
In Saugeen Shores, there are events both at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre and at McGregor Point Provincial Park.
Museum Program Co-ordinator Nancy White says you can take part in events for free from 10 AM til 4 PM today.
There are various demonstrations and activities inside and out.
Meanwhile, Natural Heritage Education Specialist Nora Toth says it is Family Fun Day at the park.
Unfortunately, ski – snowshow and skating evens have had to be cancelled due to the mild spell.
Toth says they are still doing a scavenger hunt though and encourage people to feed the birds and hike with a naturalist.
Taking part in the events is free, however you do have to pay the park entrance fee.
This is the second year, Ontario has recognized the Family Day holiday, however, not everyone has the day off.
