The Owen Sound Attack head to the Ontario Hockey League Christmas Break on a losing note.
The Attack were nipped 2-1 by the Plymouth Whalers at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Center last night ( Weds ).
AJ Jenks on a power play and Joe Gaynor ( a Goderich native ) with what stood as the game winner scored for the Whalers.
With the win, Plymouth moves into a tie in points with the Attack at 33 points, good for a share of 6th place in the Western Conference.
The Whalers will play at Barrie tonight ( Thurs ) & at Mississauga on Friday to conclude their pre-Christmas schedule.
Trailing 2-0, Owen Sound overage Andrew Wilkins scored his 10th goal of the year, but that was all Owen Sound could get behind netminder Matt Hackett.
Hackett made 36 saves and was named first star in the contest.
Owen Sound netminder Scott Stajcer also played wel, making 25 saves in taking the loss.
The Attack are now off until December 27th when they host the Kitchener rangers.
