Midget LL

Howell Transport Rebels fell 4-2 to Walkerton 2 in Midget LL action over the weekend.

Walkerton came to the rink a perfect 4-0.

The first period was back-and-forth, high-intensity action, with both teams sharing puck possession and splitting scoring chances.

The Rebels opened the scoring with a beauty point shot from defenceman, Duncan Martin. Before the period ended, Walkerton managed to tie up the score, and early in the second, pulled ahead to take the lead on a powerplay goal.

The Rebels managed to kill off the next penalty, and then added the tying marker on a sweet breakaway by Chris Hardman.

A third penalty cost the Rebels the go-ahead goal, and the teams went to the second intermission with Walkerton 2 leading 3-2.

Supreme saves by Rebels netminder, Devin Early, kept the team in the game in the third.  Then, with just over five minutes left, Walkerton managed to find the net one more time giving them the insurance goal.  Despite unrelenting pressure by the Rebels, they could not find the net and Walkerton 2 went on to win the game 4-2.
