Hornets Rally to Beat Terriers

Orillia | by Ken Hashizume

6 unanswered goals erased a 4-1 deficit.

A rough third period did in the Subaru of Orillia Terriers.
The Alliston Hornets rallied with 6 unanswered goals to beat the Terriers 7-4 on Saturday night in PJHL action.
It was a good start to the game for the Terriers.
After giving up the opening goal, Orillia went on to score the next three by Kyle Goodman, Mat Vince, and Konnor Blimke for a 3-1 lead.
With the Terriers up 4-1 in the second period, they couldn't capitalize on a full 2-minute 5-on-3 power play.
The Hornets not only killed it off without giving up a goal but they managed to score shorthanded when they were down a man.
That seemed to give Alliston momentum heading into the third period as they fired off 5 straight goals and held on to the lead for good.
Drake Board (2 goals, 1 assist), Brandon Washer (2 goals, 1 assist) and Ryan Young (3 assists) each had 3 points for the Hornets (8-1-0-0).
Brendan Machem came in relief of starter Andrew North (10 saves) after the fourth Terriers goal and stopped all 11 shots he faced.
Dallin Blunt had the other Terriers' (1-6-0-0) goal, Tyler Rowe had 2 assists, and Derek Haourt made 37 saves in the loss.
Alliston went 3-for-8 on the power play while Orillia finished 1-for-9.
The Terriers play their third game in as many days on Sunday afternoon when they host the Midland Flyers.
Game time at Rotary Place is 4:25 PM.
