Owen Sound | by Kevin Bernard

The main part of training gets underway Wednesday at the Bayshore.

The Owen Sound Attack begin the main portion of their 2017 training camp today.

After two days of Rookie Camp, a total of 42 players will take to the ice at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre as players report for fitness testing, physicals, and the first two practices of the 2017 pre-season.

NHL Draft Picks Nick Suzuki, Jonah Gadjovich, Maksim Sushko, Markus Phillips, and Trenton Bourque, will lead a group of 24 forwards, 13 defensemen, and five goaltenders into the main portion of camp, with 22 players advancing from Rookie Camp as hopefuls to skate in the 2017-18 OHL Season.

Included in those 22 players advancing from Rookie Camp are 2017 1st Round Pick Mitchell Russell, recently signed goaltender Mack Guzda, and 2017 Import Selection Vasili Filyayev.

All on-ice sessions for Main Camp will be open to the public, beginning with practices at 1:30pm on Wednesday afternoon.

The Attack will play their first exhibition game on Sunday, Sept. 3 at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre against the Barrie Colts, with puck drop slated for 2:00pm. Tickets for that game are available at the MacVicar & McComb ReMax Attack Box Office.
