Baycats Remain Hot
Barrie scores 5 runs in 7th inning to beat Burlington for their 20th straight victory.
The weather isn't the only thing that's hot, so are the Barrie Baycats.
They won their 20th straight Intercounty League game beating the Burlington Herd by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday night.
But it was not an easy win for Barrie, two errors led to both runs for Burlington.
First baseman Jordan Castaldo couldn't handle a ground ball in the 4th, and another one by third baseman Kyle DeGrace went under his glove in the 6th.
Herd starter Adam Prashad was cruising for the first six innings before the Baycats got to him for 5 runs in the 7th highlighted by a 2-run double by DeGrace.
DeGrace and Jeff Cowan each finished with two hits for the Baycats (20-0).
Emilis Guerrero gave up 2 runs (both unearned) on 5 hits, striking out 7 over 7-and-a-third innings.
Ryan Freemantle had two hits and drove in both of the Herd's (9-14) runs.
The next game for the Baycats is tomorrow night when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs at Coates Stadium.
