Terriers No Match for Siskins

Orillia | by Ken Hashizume

Jeffery, Skuce, and King combined for 11 points for Stayner.

The Stayner Siskins are proving to be birds of prey in the Carruthers Division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League.
They broke it open with 7 goals in the second period to down the Davenport Orillia Terriers by a score of 11-0.
Stayner took a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Nolan King and Ben Hughes.
The Terriers could not get much going putting only 22 shots on Eric Pitcher, 5 coming in the first period.
The line of Lucas Jeffery (3 goals, 1 assist), Ben Skuce (1 goal, 3 assists), and King (1 goal, 2 assists) combined for 11 points.
Hughes (2 goals, 1 assist), Jordan Taylor (1 goal, 3 assists), and Jake Rowbotham (1 goal, 2 assists) also had multi-point games for the Siskins (23-3-0).
Andrew Couling stopped 31 of 40 shots for the Terriers (11-18-0) before Brendan Dale (9 saves) took over in net to start the third period.
The win moves the Siskins to within a point of idle Alliston for first place in the Carruthers Division.
The next game for the Terriers is next Friday when they travel to Alliston to face the first place Hornets.
Some good news for the Terriers is that Captain Jake Shaw was named Carruthers Division Player of the Month for November.
Shaw had 11 goals and 6 assists for 17 points in 9 games.
