It looked good for the Goderich Flyers for a few minutes in the second period, but things quickly unraveled in a 6-2 loss to Hanover in Provincial Junior Hockey League play.
Ryan Stulp scored both Goderich goals within a three minute span with Tyler Stacy assisting on both and an additional helper by Noah Kuno on the second goal, to put the Flyers up 2-0 at the P and H Centre Friday.
The Barons replied with three goals later in the middle period and another three in the third period, to break open what had been an evenly-played game through 30 minutes.
Matt Shields led Hanover with a two-goal performance.
Kyler Borth, Justin Graham, Derek Williams and Cole Leslie added singles for Hanover, who outshot the Flyers 27 to 25.
The win moves the Barons into fourth place in the Pollock Division standings with eight points, while Goderich remains in seventh place with three points.
Goderich has a chance to move out of the cellar as they host Wingham at MRC, Saturday night at 7:30pm.
The Ironmen stay one point ahead of the Flyers, as Jesse Gunn scored the overtime winner for Kincardine in a 5-4 victory over Wingham at the Davidson Centre on Friday.
At Walkerton, Jordan Caskenette led the Hawks with two goals in a 5-2 win over Mount Forest.
In PJHL Yeck Division play at the South Huron Rec Centre, Christian Petrozza's goal with 3:01 remaining in regulation time sealed a 2-1 win for the second-place Exeter Hawks over Lucan.
