Rowe Goes Distance as Baycats Blank Panthers

Midhurst | by Ken Hashizume

The Baycats starter gives up 7 hits striking out 6 and Barrie is now up 2-0.

Pitching continues to carry the Barrie Baycats in the Intercounty Baseball League playoffs.
Adam Rowe scattered 7 hits over 9 innings striking out 6 as the Baycats shut out the Kitchener Panthers 2-0 on Wednesday.
Barrie got the only runs in the 5th inning when Ryan Douse misplayed a fly ball off the bat of Ryan Spataro allowing Branfy Infante to score.
Spataro later came around to score on an R-B-I single by Kyle DeGrace.
Kitchener loaded the bases in the top half of the 6th inning but Rowe got Frank Camilo Morejon to foul out and David Whiteside to ground out to the 3rd baseman to end the inning.
Panthers had another opportunity in the 7th after Mike Andrulis led off with a double but was stranded at third base.
Noelvis Entenza gave up 2 runs on 6 hits, walking 4 and striking out 4 over 6-and-a-third innings in the loss.
The win gives the Baycats a 2-0 lead in the best of seven semi final series.
