Friday Game 1-  The team played Carleton Place Cyclones this team was great all the way around and they even brought their pins to give to each of our players!  The game started off a bit slow but it wasn’t long into the first that defencemen Jessica Davidson was able to get a goal assisted by Jamie Gilchrist.  The game was back and forth but then with 38 seconds left in the second we got another goal from yet another strong defence Emily Meuser assisted by Georgia Rutter and Summer Roney.  This would end this game in a 2-0 WIN for the team and the first SHUT-OUT for Grace Vokes.

Friday Game 2- With a long wait between games the girls put their time in with rest and a pot-luck dinner to get prepared for this game. This game was against Bancroft Jets and the Rebel Girls came out flying.  Emily Meuser was the first to score assisted by Emma MacDonnell goal 2 was from Kloey Jex assisted by Meuser goal 3 was awarded to Georgia Rutter assisted by Jamie Gilchrist and Meuser again!  The girls were not done yet Jamie Gilchrist was able to get one un-assisted and not long after Jex scored again!  This ended the game with a 5-0 win for the team and SHUT-OUT #2 for Vokes!!

Saturday Game 3- After a good nights sleep and breakfast we were off to the rink to play the Cambridge Roadrunners.  The team knew that it was important to win this game to hold our first place spot in our pool as they didn’t want to have to play an extra game on Saturday in the elimination game.  They came out focused and ready.  First to start the scoring was kloey Jex un-assisted that was all the scoring there would be in the first but in the second was a different story Abby Vokes scored assisted by Tara Meikle, Vokes got another goal assisted by Jessica Davidson then Georgia Rutter would also get a goal before the second was over assisted by Meghan Prentice.  The game wasn’t over yet as in the third there was one more goal this one was from another defence Brooke Farrow assisted by Kloey Jex. End score 5-0 SHUT-OUT # 3 for VOKES!  This put us in First of our pool and second place over all in the PeeWee C division.

Saturday game 4 (quarter final game)-  The team was now playing for there spot for a possible medal.  They had to win and they knew it!  This game was against Belmont and they were ready to go as well.  The Rebels were able to get a goal early in the first goal was from Abby Vokes assisted by Tara Meikle and would be the only goal of the game until Belmont was able to tip one past Grace with only 4:59 remaining in the game.  This would end the third period in a tie and forced us in to OT.  With a short break and some water and a talk from the coaches it was back to battle for the girls.  It was not long into the OT period that Tara Meikle was able to dig out the puck from the scramble in fount of the net and score to end the game with the 4th win of 2-1.  This put the team in the Semi final game Sunday Morning to determine what medal they would be playing for.

Sunday Game 5 – The game was against Kemptville and you could tell that the team wanted to win.  Jessica Davidson was able to get the scoring going with another of her beauty goals unassisted.  Then in the second Emily Meuser netted one assisted by Davidson.  That brought us to the third period where Tara Meikle scored assisted by Kloey Jex and Emma MacDonnell, Tara Meikle was able to get one last goal in the game assisted by Brooke Farrow.  This was SHUT-OUT # 4 for Grace Vokes and this big win put the Team in the GOLD MEDAL GAME!

Sunday Game 6 GOLD MEDAL GAME -  The team knew this was going to be a tough match up as the team that they were facing was Wallaceburg Lakers and this team placed first over all in the PeeWee division and also was undefeated in Provincials so far.  This game was a nail biter as the play was back and fourth and tense! The first was scoreless with both goaltenders making great saves then the second started and it to was back and fourth until .35 seconds remained and JAMIE GILGHRIST netted a great goal assisted by Emily Meuser.  This just made Wallaceburg turn it on more but so did the Rebels.  They battled hard right until the end as Wallageburg pulled their goalie to give the extra man advantage but they didn’t break through with .19 seconds left in the third Emily Meuser would give the security of the win with an empty net goal!  Once again hats off the GRACE VOKES as she stood her ground this game and got her 5th SHUT-OUT of the Tournament!
