A former Barrie Colt leading the Alliston Hornets to victory in Game 3 of the Schmalz Cup Junior C semifinals.
Stephen Nosad had two goals including the eventual game-winner in a 6-4 win over the Port Hope Panthers on Sunday in what was an intense and fast-pace game.
The Panthers were up 3-1 in the 2nd period when Joe Cochrane and Matt Hamilton answered for the Hornets to tie the game at 3-3.
Mike Smith's goal 4:13 into the 3rd period gave Port Hope a 4-3 lead before Nosad -- after missing out on some early scoring chances -- tied it up at the 12:12 mark then gave Alliston the lead with 1:50 left in the period.
Nosad finished with 3 points, Hamilton with 2 goals, and Tyler Brindle made 42 saves for the Hornets.
Dalton Lawrence and Blaine Gaudon each had a goal and an assist while Sheldon Calbury stopped 34 shots for the Panthers.
The Hornets take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Game 4 goes Tuesday in Port Hope.
