Owen Sound Evens Up Series

London | by Bayshore News Staff

McNiven makes 23 saves to backstop Attack to 2-0 win over Knights.

The Owen Sound Attack have tied up their Ontario Hockey League Western Conference quarterfinal series.

Michael McNiven made 23 saves as Owen Sound blanked the Knights 2-0 to take Game 2 of their first-round matchup.

Each team now has won a game in the best of seven series.

The Attack out-shot London by a margin of 20-6.

Josh Sterk scored for Owen Sound on the power play and Kevin Hancock also scored, into an empty net.
Knights goaltender Tyler Parsons stopped 27-of-28 shots for London.

The victory for the Attack ends a prolonged streak of misery in London.

The last time Owen Sound won in London was February 8th, 2013.

In between, the Attack had lost ten straight trips to London.

Also, before that last win back on February 8th 2013, the Attack had lost the previous ten trips to London

That means Owen Sound has now won two of the last 22 games in London.

Game Three in the best of seven series is Monday at 7 PM at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound.
