Hornets Hold Off Bulldogs

A late Kincardine rally wasn't enough as Alliston takes 2-0 lead.

Alliston putting the sting on Kincardine in their Schmalz Cup Junior C quarterfinal series.

Tyler Brindle made 37 saves for the Hornets in a 3-1 victory over the Bulldogs on Saturday night.
 
Alliston takes a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
 
There was no scoring until the 13:34 mark of the 1st period when Jackson Arcan came out of the penalty box, took a pass from Ryan Lewis and went in alone to score and give the Hornets a 1-0 lead.
 
Stephen Nosad would put Alliston up 2-0 in the 3rd period after an interception in the neutral zone and a bad line change by the Bulldogs.
 
Kincardine would cut the deficit to 2-1 on a power play goal by Dalton Hnatko with 35 seconds left in the 3rd. 
 
Jacob Hutchings finished with 29 saves for the Bulldogs.
 
Alliston went 0-for-1 on the power play while Kincardine were 1-for-4.
 
Game 3 of this series is Sunday at 4 PM in Kincardine.
