Kings Take Junior C Semi Opener
Cole with goal and assist as Penetang rallies in the 3rd for a 4-2 win over Caledon.
The Penetang Kings take the first game of their Georgian Mid-Ontario semifinal series.
Hayden Cole led a 3rd period comeback for the Kings with a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win over the Caledon Golden Hawks on Wednesday.
After a scoreless 1st period, the Golden Hawks took a 2-0 lead in the second period on goals by Nicholas McNutt and Ryan Mouser.
Michael Paul's short-handed goal 5:39 into the third period cut Caledon's lead to 2-1.
Braeden Dorion tied it up at 2-2 then Cole scored 1:24 later to give Penetang the lead for good.
Ben Sly had the other Kings goal.
Andrew North turned away 31 shots for the Kings while Brendan Macham made 41 saves for the Golden Hawks.
Both teams were unsuccessful on the power play -- Caledon on 4 chances while Penetang had one.
The Kings lead the best-of-seven 1-0 with Game 2 on Friday night in Penetanguishene.
